Top To Bottom Ride Through Extreme Points In Australia On A 125cc Motorbike - Gerald Frogley

The challenge
To ride a small capacity motorcycle 125cc to the most northerly point (Cape York) and the most southerly point (South East Cape), including the highest (Mt. Kosciuszko) and the lowest (Lake Eyre) points of Australia, in one month.
The team
Gerald Frogley, supported by Tony Hughes and Rod Davis began their challenge, Gerald riding a 125CC 2007 Honda CBR125R.
In brief
DAY 1 Beginning at the Mai-Wel group in Telarah NSW, who the team were raising money for, this charitable organisation does great work enhancing lives through opportunity and choice. They called it a day in Cooma NSW.
On DAY 2 the team parked at Charlotte Pass where they began their 9km climb to the summit of Mt. Kosciuszko NSW, Australia’s highest point, battling wind, rain and blizzard like conditions. They finished for the day in Jindabyne NSW.
DAY 3 Jindabyne NSW – Lakes Entrance VIC
DAY 4 Lakes Entrance VIC – Hampton Park VIC
DAY 5 The team managed to arrive at Station Pier Melbourne where they caught the Spirit of Tasmania across to Devonport Tasmania.
DAY 6 Devonport TAS – Sandy Bay Hobart TAS
DAY 7 They arrived at Cockle Creek , the most southerly point in Australia, the South East Cape Peninsula Tasmania.
DAY 8 Sandy Bay, Hobart TAS – Strahan TAS
DAY 9 The team caught the Spirit of Tasmania from Devonport back to Station Pier Melbourne.
DAY 10 Station Pier Melbourne VIC – Red Cliffs VIC
DAY 11 Red Cliffs VIC – Port Augusta SA
DAY 12 Port Augusta SA – Coober Pedy SA
DAY 13 There were many challenges to be faced. Amongst them was the rough terrain heading from William Creek towards Lake Eyre, when the esky mounted on the bike broke, so roadside repairs were needed. In addition, the support vehicle driven by Rod became bogged. Finally the team made it to Lake Eyre, Australia’s lowest point.

DAY 17 Avon Downs NT – Cloncurry QLD
DAY 18 Cloncurry QLD – Croydon QLD
DAY 19 Croydon QLD – Mareeba QLD
DAY 20 Mareeba QLD – Coen QLD
DAY 21 Coen QLD – Punsand QLD
DAY 22 This day was epic for the team, they made it to their final extreme point Cape York, Australia’s most northerly point achieving their goal and a new national record!
