Date of Record: 29/01/2018

At the age of 73 years, 6 months and 5 days, John Magowan of Perth WA successfully donated a bone marrow transplant (by stem cell donation) to his younger brother Trevor (aged 64 years, 7 months and 26 days) who was suffering from acute myaeloid leukaemia.

John selflessly flew from Perth to Belfast Northern Ireland with his wife Ann for support . The process was coordinated by Susan Piggott at the Belfast City Hospital where the donation took place and it was a complete success. Trevor has been in good health ever since.
