Most Cycling World Championship Gold Medals - Anna Meares
Date of Record: 23/02/2015
Australian sprint queen Anna Meares has become the most prolific women's track cyclist in history by claiming her 11th gold medal at the Cycling World Championships in Paris.
Anna at 31 years of age won her 11th gold to take her clear of the women's mark she previously shared with Frenchwoman Felicia Ballanger.
The gold, along with earlier silver and bronze medals, also took Anna's career tally to 26 world track title medals to surpass previous record-holder, Briton Chris Hoy.
